The main characters of the opera are:
- Sir Simon de’ Canterville: the man who once lived in the Canterville Chase, he killed his wife and now his ghost is haunting the house.
- Mr. Otis: the father of the family, an American minister who purchased the Canterville Chase. A calm person, that fights only with word.
- Virginia Otis: daughter of Mr. Otis, a pure girl, who will be the most important character of this opera, her is going to marry with the Duke of Cheshire.
- The stars and stripes: the two twins of the family, two lively characters that in the opera get the role of making jokes to the Ghost.
- Washington: the oldest son of Mr Otis, a very patriotic guy that always find a solution for everything.
- Mrs Umney: the wife of Mr Otis, a character poor described, that always stay away from the dangerous.
- The Duke of Cheshire: a young boy that fell in love with Virginia, we can see his brave in this story because he will do anything for her love.
